I Had a Black Dog His Name Was DEPRESSION

In less than a month it will be 2014 and people still have trouble discussing depression.  Yes, we now have actors coming out and talking publicly about their depression and mental illnesses, and there is many more advertisements about the disease.  However, it’s  still hard to talk about.  There are more people openly talking about sex and STD’s (sexually transmitted diseases) than people openly talking about depression.

I came across this video which may help explain how some people feel when in a bout of depression.  It’s not deep or technical but rather touches the surface and helps to make depression easily understandable using a black dog as a metaphor.

Since I’m a dog person…I don’t like using that metaphor. Otherwise it’s a very good video…I hope it will help eliminate the stigma.
