I wanted to start a discussion on emotions. I picked a nasty one to start off with.
Part 1 In My Series On Emotions: Anger
In physical reality you not only engage in thought processes but you also encounter emotions. One particular emotion is Anger.
This ‘state of consciousness’ happens spontaneously rather than through ‘conscious planning’. I find it usually rears its head when you start feeling a sense of powerlessness towards negative situations such as being wronged by another person.
In older times the word originated from “angr”, which meant sorrow or grief. We tend to embrace this definition as it signifies the true energy of the emotion.
Anger is actually a healthy response to something that brings us sorrow. Instead of crying we respond with a feeling of anger that is more powerful than the feeling of grief. It is a natural response, however, often it is held onto for longer than it should be. Anger not released can become toxic. It can cloud your thought process by not allowing for reconciliation. It is important to let anger go.
Whatever it was that prompted the emotion has come and gone. The feelings of anger, however, can linger long and decrease the ability to evolve. Acknowledge the emotion. Be angry. Then let it go. Release the emotion. It has done it’s purpose, now let go. To let it linger now is only causing further grief for yourself and no one else. This will eventually turn toxic for you.
It is an emotion and a tool created to enhance the experience.
Use it then release it.
Your soul will thank you.
.
Namaste!
