DOING YOUR BEST

BE THE BEST OF WHATEVER YOU ARE

By Douglas Malloch

If You can’t be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a shrub in the valley- but be
The best little shrub by the side of the hill;
Be a bush, if you can’t be a tree.
.
If you can’t be a bush, be a bit of grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can’t be a muskie , then just be a bass –
But the liveliest bass in the lake!
.
We can’t all be Captains, we’ve got to be crew,
There’s something for all of us here.
There’s big work to do & there’s lesser to do
And the task we must do is near.
.
If you can’t be the highway, then just be a trail,
If you can’t be the Sun, be a star;
It isn’t by size that you win or fail –
Be the best of whatever you are!

When you are happy at what you are doing in life you want to do your best.  It makes you feel good.  It brings you joy.  Don’t do something just because you were told to it.  Go with your heart!!!  Do what makes you happy!!  It won’t feel like a job, it will feel like a hobby!!

Life is meant to be en-joy-ed, so do something that fulfills you.  That gives you meaning.   That is when you do your best,  because it keeps your interest.  It keeps you focused.  It inspires you!!

Love and Light!!
